Dedicated research applications in FTIR spectroscopy such
as the characterization of superconductors or semiconductors
usually require low sample temperatures. More precisely, the
characteristic photoluminescence signals of many semiconductors compounds only appear far below room temperature because of the changed electron distribution at lower
temperatures. Temperature dependent reflectance spectra
of superconductor material reveal that transition temperature
due to characteristic changes of the reflection spectra. Also
for studies on the kinetics of chemical reactions, it can be
of major importance to investigate the process over a wide
temperature regime to unravel diffe
